Job Requirements and Description

As a Painter and Decorator, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying high-quality finishes to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. You will work independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities:

Erecting scaffolding and ladders, placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas
Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
Mix and match paints to achieve desired colours and finishes
Repair cracks, holes, and damaged surfaces
Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
Follow jobs specifications and safety requirements
Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
Communicate with supervisors and clients professionally

What We’re Looking For

Trade qualifications and at least 3 years work experience as a fully qualified Painter & Decorator
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Knowledge of painting materials, tools, and techniques
Understanding of workplace health and safety standards
White Card
Driver’s Licence (preferred)

Employer Sponsorship for Painter and Decorators in WA

This position is eligible for sponsorship under Employee Sponsored (subclass 482) visa.

These visas are taking 3 to 4 months to be processed and will allow you up to 4 years of living and working in Australia.

You can apply for permanent residency after 2 years of working with the same employer on your 482 visa.
